Namfrel quick-count slows down again, lags behind Comelec tally

The National Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) quick-count has slowed down again. It now trails behind the total number of votes tallied by the Commission on Elections' official tally by a few million votes. In Namfrel's report no. 27 as of Tuesday, 11:20 p.m., Genuine Opposition candidate Loren Legarda continued to lead the senatorial race with over nine million votes. The Comelec had already counted over 12 million votes for her. Namfrel is accredited by the Comelec to do a quick-count. The poll watchdog’s report no. 27 included 59.21 percent, or 133,073, of 224,748 precincts. In comparison, its report no. 26, issued 8:48 p.m., Tuesday, counted 57.74 percent of precincts while report no. 25 issued 10:58 am on the same day was for 57.20 percent of precincts. Namfrel is doing its unofficial count at the La Salle Greenhills in San Juan. The Comelec national board of canvassers is conducting the tally at the PICC in Pasay City. -Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV
