PHLPost issues UP dentistry centennial stamps
Commemorative stamps from the Philippine Postal Corp. will be among the highlights of the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry centennial celebration.
The UPCD centennial commemorative stamp, with the UPCD as backdrop, measures 30mm x 40mm. It is printed by Amstar Co. Inc. in imported unwatermarked paper.
PHLPost said the stamp has the UPCD centennial logo with the image of the
Staff of Asclepius and an image of a mouth mirror, a common dental instrument.
Some 104,000 souvenir sheets were printed and were made available since Feb. 6 for P10 each in major postal offices and at the Manila Central Post Office.
UPCD was established on February 8, 1915 as part of the UP College of Medicine and Surgery. It not only offers dental training and undergraduate instruction, but also introduced community dentistry in the country.
It also offers graduate course in Orthodontics, the first Masters of Science in Dentistry Degree in the Philippines, PHLPost noted. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
