Jack Enrile says JPE’s condition already improving
The condition of Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile has been improving after he was confined at the Makati Medical Center for pneumonia, a report on GMA's “QRT” said Tuesday.
Enrile's son former Cagayan Rep. Jack Enrile confirmed this development but added that his father was scheduled to undergo a chest X-ray on Wednesday.
The younger Enrile said the procedure would determine if his father could already be returned to the Philippine National Police General Hospital where he had been detained.
He also clarified that his father rejected the idea of being granted a house arrest because he wanted to face the plunder and graft charges against him based on court proceedings.
Enrile was rushed to the Makati hospital on Feb. 26 after spots of blood were seen in his phlegm.
He has been detained at the PNP hospital since July last year over plunder and graft charges in connection with the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam. —Andrei Medina/NB, GMA News
