Call center agent dies in Manila road mishap


A call center agent was killed while a jeep driver was injured after a 10-wheeler truck rammed into their passenger jeep in Manila's Paco district before dawn Tuesday. Radio dzBB cited initial police reports identifying the fatality as John Rey Paredes, 24, a call center agent who was a passenger of the jeep driven by Aquilino Rebaño. The accident injured Rebaño, who was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital for treatment. The jeep (TWV-427) was wrecked in the accident. Police are now looking for the still-unidentified driver and helper of the truck (CAT-180), who escaped after the incident. Initial investigation showed the truck rammed the jeep at about 3 a.m., at the corner of Apacible and San Marcelino Streets in Manila's Paco district. At the time, the jeep was plying the route between Padre Faura and San Andres. - GMANews.TV
