QC court dismisses case vs PBA’s Crisano

The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the charges of acts of lasciviousness filed against former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Alex Crisano due to insufficiency of evidence. In a resolution, assistant city prosecutor Vesta Victoria Giner-Villamor explained that a scrutiny of the complainant’s allegations would reveal that it is flawed by material inconsistency, thus deserving scant consideration. The complainant, a 19-year old babysitter of Crisano’s children, narrated that in the afternoon of June 15, 2005, Crisano called her to give him massage inside his room. Once inside, Crisano allegedly locked the room before he lied down on the bed and she massage his legs. After a few minutes, Crisano allegedly undressed himself and the complainant continued on massaging him. While massaging him, the complainant said, Crisano was allegedly playing with his private part. The complainant added that Crisano lied face down and ordered her to massage his back and buttocks. The complainant further claimed that although she was shaking out of fear, she obliged. But when she was about to reach Crisano’s buttocks, the complainant stood up and asked permission to go out of the room. Crisano, however, allegedly pulled and made her sit on the bed before she was ordered to continue to massage him. While the complainant was sitting down, Crisano allegedly sat on the edge of the bed and suddenly lifted her skirt then inserted his hand inside her underwear before touching her private part. The complainant allegedly fought back and forcefully removed Crisano’s hand from inside her underwear. At this juncture, a certain Ate Beng arrived and went inside the respondent’s room and saw the complainant massaging him. The respondent, on the other hand, allegedly covered the lower part of his body with a blanket. The complainant added that while the incident was going on, the respondent’s children were inside the room watching television. Crisano, meanwhile, denied the allegations against him saying that the complainant merely concocted the charges just to harass him because he learned that she was maltreating his 3-year old daughter. Villamor, on the other hand, further explained that it is highly inconceivable for the respondent lying naked in the bed and at the same time playing with his private part while in the company of his children.-GMANEWS.TV
