FDA warns vs. 2 unregistered drug products


The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday warned the public against at least two unregistered drug products.

In Advisory 2015-020 dated April 7, the FDA said the two products "pose potential danger or injury to the consuming public."

FDA, which posted the advisory on its website Thursday, identified the two products as:

- Balsem Gosok Cap Balsem Merah Betet 17.5g Balm, made by PT Irawan Djaja agung Sidoarjo in Indonesia

- Fluocinonide + Neomycin Sulfate (Fuchingsung-N) 10g cream, distributed by Shandong Medicines and Health Products Import and Export Corp.

The FDA said it has ordered its field regulation officers to seize the products.

Also, it warned establishments and outlets against selling or dispensing these products.

FDA also asked local government units to make sure such products are not sold or offered for sale in their areas of jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the agency advised consumers to buy medications only from FDA-licensed establishments.
