Labor leader missing, says KMU

Four days before the scheduled nationwide Labor Day rallies, the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) voiced fears Wednesday night that Arturo Macalalag, 45, a union organizer from the Association of Democratic Labor Organizations (ADLO-KMU) was abducted. In a statement, the KMU said Macalalag left his house at noon and was heading to the ADLO-KMU office in Quezon City. He was last seen wearing a white undershirt, denim pants, blue rubber shoes, and a white cap. KMU said members tried to reach him through his cell phone but could not do so.
