Calayans get death threats from 'NPA hitman'
The bodyguard-driver of Doctors Manny and Pie Calayan, known as dermatologists to some of tinseltown's most beautiful, on Thursday morning said his employers have received death threats from an alleged New People's Army (NPA) assassin. Radio station dzBB reported that the Calayan's driver, 28-year-old Junden delos Reyes, went to the Makati Police District (MPD) headquarters to relay the information and seek police protection. Delos Reyes said a certain Ka Terry called up the Calayan clinic at the corner of Amorsolo and Dela Rosa Streets in Makati City and demanded a monthly payment of P1 million in "revolutionary taxes." The caller allegedly boasted that he knew the Calayans' movements and that he could easily carry out their murders. Delos Reyes said he was the one who received the call. Delos Reyes added that the man also called up the Calayan clinic in Quezon City as if to reiterate that he was not bluffing. The Makati police told dzBB radio that it would validate the reports. However, lawmen also noted that a woman from Cavite, who was allegedly unable to have facial surgery from the Calayans, had also previously sent death threats. Doctors Manny and Pie Calayan boast of arguably one of the most successful dermatology practices in the country. Their long list of celebrity clients include Ruffa and Richard Gutierrez, Arnel Ignacio, Carmina Villaroel, Pia Guanio, Jennylyn Mercado, Rainier Castillo, Marvin Agustin, Korina Sanchez, Sunshine Cruz, Valerie Concepcion and Gloria Diaz, just to name a few. - GMANews.TV
