UPCAT will be held August 30

The University of the Philippines (UP) announced on Monday that its College Admission Test (UPCAT) will be held on August 30.

According to the Office of Admissions, applications for UPCAT this year can be accomplished online, which will link applicants to the free Online UPCAT Reviewer.

"If you do not have a computer and/or have limited internet access you may go to the Office of Student Affairs, the Learning Resource Center, or the Main Library, of a UP Campus near you and ask for assistance. You may also go to the Information Technology Development Center in UP Diliman for internet assistance," the office suggested.

The UPCAT consists of four subtests in Language Proficiency (English and Filipino), Science, Math, and Reading Comprehension (English and Filipino).

The University of the Philippines has eight constituent universities that high school graduates can choose from:

  • UP Diliman (with an Extension Program in Pampanga)
  • UP Baguio
  • UP Los Baños
  • UP Manila (with Schools of Health Sciences in Baler, Palo and Koronadal)
  • UP Visayas (with campuses in Iloilo/Miagao and Tacloban)
  • UP Cebu
  • UP Mindanao
  • UP Open University

The university will begin accepting applications for the UPCAT in July. — Trisha Macas/BM, GMA News
