Mar Roxas in resignation letter: I will not let Bosses down
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas lauded President Benigno Aquino III for the administration's supposed achievements and vowed to continue its gains if he's wins the presidency in the 2016 elections.
Roxas made the remarks in his resignation letter three days after the Chief Executive chose him as his handpicked potential successor on Friday.
"I take this opportunity once more to sincerely thank you for your trust and confidence in me to carry on the flight for Daang Matuwid. I meant every word I said in my response. I will not let you and our Bosses down," Roxas told Aquino.
"You have brought the country to the mountaintop indeed. Allowing me to be part of this journey has given more meaning and fulfillment in my life," he added.
Roxas on Monday morning announced that he was already leaving the post following his endorsement as the administration's presidential candidate.
Aquino, however, said that he wants Roxas to extend his DILG stint to finish some projects, particularly efforts to upgrade police equipment. -NB/JST, GMA News
