The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will come out with its decision on the indirect contempt case against Maguindanao poll officer Lintang Bedol on Aug. 7. Online news site Mindanews reported Saturday that commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer said Bedol and his lawyers have been ordered to appear before Comelec that day. He said the hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 7. Ferrer made the announcement in Davao City where he and Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr are conducting a post-elections assessment in Southeastern and Southwestern Mindanao regions. They are also overseeing preparations for the upcoming barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections scheduled for Oct. 29. Comelec put up satellite offices in barangays to facilitate the extension of registration for youth elections after receiving a grant from the National Youth Commission. - GMANews.TV
