Enzo Pastor's family fears suspect in murder of the famed racer has fled the country

The family of slain race car driver Enzo Pastor is worried that a prime suspect in the killing of their kin may have already left the country despite the arrest warrant the Quezon City regional trial court has issued against Domingo "Sandy" de Guzman.

 

Pastor family lawyer Atty. Enrique dela Cruz told GMA's "24 Oras" on Wednesday that the absence of  de Guzman's legal counsel during the proceedings for the issuance of the warrant may mean that the suspect has gone into hiding.

 

"Nagtataka kami na all throughout this proceedings, nagpaparticipate 'yan eh. May abogado si Mr. De Guzman. Kahapon, nung lumabas yung...wala na sila bigla. Absent sila lahat. Natatakot kami na baka makalabas na rin ng bansa," dela Cruz said.

 

He said de Guzman may be able to get past authorities.

 

"Kung gusto talaga nila na harangin ang isang tao, ba't mo hihintayin pa 'yun? Ito may warrant, may HDO. Yung isa wala, si Chris Brown, walang warrant pero napahinto nila sa airport," dela Cruz said.

 

QC Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit chief P/Insp. Rodelio B Marcelo said that tracker team has been tasked to find Dalia, who had been charged with parricide.

 

He added that they were also coordinating with the Interpol to track down Dalia.

 

"Meron naman tayong Interpol. Lateral coordination lang 'yan," Marcelo said.  — Trisha Macas/ELR, GMA News
