Butz Aquino's remains cremated Tuesday

The remains of former senator Agapito "Butz" Aquino, uncle of President Benigno Aquino III, are being cremated Tuesday morning.

In his live report on News To Go, GMA News' Jay Sabale said the cremation started before10 a.m. at the Arlington Chapels and Crematorium in Quezon City.

Close friends and relatives gathered on Tuesday morning for a Mass before the cremation, where they recalled the former senator's life and the love he had shown for them.

His eldest, Roxanne, said that before he passed on, her father requested that his bed be moved so he could be closer to the family that gathered to watch over him.

He passed away a few days before the 32nd death anniversary of his brother, the late former Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., who was shot and killed upon returning from exile on August 21, 1983.
