CA confirms appointment of AFP chief Iriberri, 104 other senior officials
The Commission on Appointments on Wednesday confirmed the ad interim appointment of Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Hernando Iriberri and the appointments of 104 other senior military officers.
In an interview with reporters, Iriberri said he was humbled by the confidence accorded to him by the bicameral body.
“I submitted myself to the authority of the CA because I know that my appointment really comes from the people whom they represented,” he said.
He said with the confirmation of his ad interim appointment to the grade of General and AFP chief of staff, he can now focus on implementing the directions he set for the military.
Iriberri, born and raised in Surigao de Sur, also assured the public that he will condemn any abuse committed by the military, which is currently being linked to the killing of three Lumad (indigenous people) leaders in Mindanao
