PNoy declares September 25 a regular holiday

President Benigno Aquino III has declared September 25, Friday, a regular holiday across the country in observance of Eid'l Adha.

 

Eid'l Adha, also referred to as the Feast of Sacrifice, is commemorated after the Hajj or the annual pilgrimage of Muslims to Mecca.

 

In Proclamation No. 1128, Eid'l Adha was regarded as "one of the two greatest feasts of Islam."

 

The observance of Eid'l Adha was recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos based on the Islamic calendar. — Kathrina Charmaine Alvarez/RSJ/TJD, GMA News
