Susan Roces backs Grace Poe: May God be her guide

Hours before the expected announcement of her daughter's plans in 2016, veteran actress Susan Roces said she will give her full support to Senator Grace Poe, whatever the senator will decide to pursue for next year's elections.

In an interview over radio dzBB, Roces said she knows her daughter is prepared for the decision she will share to the public on Wednesday evening.

Pictures tweeted by reporter Manny Vargas showed Roces and Poe's husband and children already at the front row of the UP Bahay ng Alumni.

The senator is expected to announce her presidential candidacy early evening on Wednesday.

"Nakikiisa ako sa damdamin ng aking anak," Roces said. "Alam ko na anuman ang kaniyang susuungin ay pinaghandaan niyang mabuti. Ang panalangin ko ay gabayan siya ng Panginoong Diyos."

The actress said she would not meddle with Poe's decision.

She also thanked those who are rallying behind her daughter even as a neophyte lawmaker.

"Maraming salamat sa pagbibigay suporta na nagbibigay naman ng lakas ng loob sa kaniya na pasukin ang larangan na ito," she said.

Poe, who has consistently topped presidential surveys in the past months, will make "an important announcement" regarding her plans for 2016 at the UP Bahay ng Alumni. - Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/NB, GMA News
