Ralph Recto files COC for reelection


Sen. Ralph Recto filed his certificate of candidacy on Wednesday afternoon. 
 
Recto was accompanied by his wife, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, and their son Ryan Christian.
 
He is among the candidates in the senatorial slate of the Liberal Party who filed their COCs on Wednesday. 
 
Other members of the slate who filed their COCs in the morning were Senate President Franklin Drilon, through his brother Cesar Jr., former senator and food security czar Francis Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros and Mark Lapid.
 
In a statement sent to the media prior to his filing, Recto said his legislative agenda includes pushing for free public college education and skills training, universal health care, investment in agriculture, and reducing taxes for more profit. 
 
Recto was elected to the Senate in 2001 and chaired the committees on Ways and Means and on Trade and Industry. 
 
He lost in the 2007 senatorial election and was appointed director-general of National Economic and Development Authority in 2008.
 
He was again elected to the Senate in 2010. —ALG, GMA News
