Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno files COC for senator
Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno filed his certificate of candidacy for senator at the Comelec head office in Intramuros, Manila around noon Friday.
Moreno is running under Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino, a political party headed by Manila Mayor President Joseph Estrada. Moreno was Estrada's running mate during the 2013 elections.
He said that before heading to the Comelec main office to file his COC, he declared his plan to run for senator in Tondo, where he was raised.
Moreno added that he will be supporting the tandem of Senators Grace Poe and Chiz Escudero in the 2016 elections.
Before filing his COC, Moreno was endorsed by Poe and Escudero in an event in Tondo.
"Matagal na kaming nag-uusap ni Vice Isko.... Kasi talaga, ang mga napatunayan niya sa Manila, pero higit sa lahat ang kanyang pinanggalingan, ang istorya niya. Kaya nga noong nagsasalita siya, nararamdaman ng marami talaga ang kanyang mga sinasabi," Poe said. — Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/RSJ/KBK/NB, GMA News
