Sandiganbayan allows Imelda Marcos to travel to Singapore for medical treatment

The Fifth Division of the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan on Friday allowed Imelda Marcos to travel to Singapore for 15 days to undergo treatment of pneumonia and other possible ailments such as sepsis.

The Sandiganbayan allowed Marcos to travel from October 26 to November 9.

In its order, the Sandiganbayan said the travel bonds posted by the accused in the total amount of P630,000 shall continue to guarantee her compliance with the conditions of her travel leave.

The widow of the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos is facing 10 counts of graft before the Fifth Division in connection with her alleged illegal financial interests in several private companies while she was a member of the Interim Batasan Pambansa from 1978 to 1984.

The mother of Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is also facing several civil cases in another division of the Sandiganbayan in connection with the alleged ill-gotten wealth of her family during the term of her late husband, former President Ferdinand Marcos. -NB, GMA News
