Close to 6M voter’s ID cards remain unclaimed —Comelec

Close to six million voter's’ identification cards have remained unclaimed, the Commission on Elections said on Sunday.

Thus, Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista is urging the 5,969,072 voters to claim their IDs.

“We found out that there are about 6 million voters’ IDs that are available for claiming at the local Comelec offices nationwide.”

Also, Bautista said voter's ID can be claimed personally or by a representative (with proper authorization) during regular office hours.

“For those who have not gotten their voter's IDs, they should check the availability via the Precinct Finder at the poll body's website,” he added.

However, Bautista said: “You don’t need a voter's ID to be able vote.”

The voter ID is a valid ID that is recognized by all government offices and banks for a person’s identification purposes and is being issued to a registered voter. — LBG, GMA News
