PNoy, sisters visit parents’ tombs at Manila Memorial Park

President Benigno Aquino III on Thursday afternoon visited the tombs of his parents, former President Cory Aquino and slain opposition senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., ahead of All Souls' Day.

President Aquino’s parents are buried at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

In a tweet, radio DZBB reporter Tuesday Niu said Aquino prayed the rosary with sisters Ballsy Cruz, Pinky Abellada, and Viel Dee.

Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. said in a media briefing that President Aquino is also closely monitoring activities in bus terminals and airports in time for All Souls' and All Saints' Days.

“Patuloy na tinututukan ng Pangulo ang kondisyon sa ating mga paliparan at pantalan upang tiyakin na ang ating mga mamamayan at lahat ng mga maglalakbay para sa Undas ay magkaroon ng ligtas at kombinyenteng paglalakbay,” he said.

Coloma added that concerned agencies and officials have been instructed to ensure a “safe and hassle-free commemoration” of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Malacañang earlier clarified that only November 1 or All Saints’ Day, Sunday, was declared a special non-working holiday.
