Lines start to form for brgy, SK poll registration
Just as Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr feared, long lines of last-minute registrants for the October 29 polls have started to form in Metro Manila. Radio dzBB reported that as of 7 a.m. Sunday, lines as long as 500 meters were observed in many registration sites in Makati and Pasay Cities. However, registration was suspended in Muntinlupa City, after a fire devastated its City Hall Friday. Abalos earlier said the Comelec will extend the registration period in Muntinlupa City. Abalos said in an interview on dzXL radio that the Comelec will issue a formal resolution Monday to extend the registration period for new voters in Muntinlupa City. The Comelec chairman scored the Filipino trait of doing things at the last minute. He said registrants who fail to meet the Sunday deadline should not blame him or the poll body anymore. - GMANews.TV
