Swerving jeep or 'patok' jeep, a danger to commuters - LTFRB
The driver of a swerving jeep, which is the subject of a viral video, is in hot water, according to an official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in a report by Jamie Santos on GMA's State of the Nation with Jessica Soho.
The passenger jeep was caught on video by a netizen, who noticed it perilously swerving from one lane to another along Marcos Highway.
The video was shown to Atty. Ariel Inton, LTFRB Board Member, who said the driver could lose his license while the operator's franchise may be cancelled or suspended.
It was found out that the jeep plies the Calumpang-Stop and Shop route via Aurora Boulevard and the operator is from Barangka in Marikina.
Inton pointed out that the driver of the swerving jeep is a dangerous risk to the well-being of his passengers.
He suggested that the driver should be identified and they may recommend the suspension of the operator's license.
The swerving jeep or the so-called Patok jeep is popular among young commuters because the travel time is shorter.
The danger of this style of driving is still present but some commuters would be quick to remind the drivers to be careful or to just slow down. — BAP, GMA News
