LTFRB suspends operator of viral ‘swerving jeep’

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is set to issue a 30-day suspension order against the operator of the jeepney caught on video swerving along Marcos Highway.

A report on GMA-7’s “24 Oras” said on Monday, however, said the jeepney has been sold to another operator.

The new operator said the driver of the jeepney who was identified as Mark Bumunlag did not return to work since the video went viral.

A hearing has been set to discuss the alleged violations committed by the jeepney operator.

The LTFRB said that if Bumunlag skips the hearing, they will recommend to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) that his license be revoked.

Ariel inton, LTFRB board member, advised the public to report similar incidents to avoid road accidents.

“Kung meron pa po kayong alam na ganito po ang style ng pagmamaneho, eh i-complain n’yo po sa LTFRB at aaksyunan po natin iyan. Hindi na po kami maghihintay na may maaaksidente,” he added. — Trisha Macas, BAP, GMA News
