Tour guide critically wounded in Palawan tourist rescue

A tour guide who saved two foreign tourists on Taraw Mountain in Palawan is now in critical condition due to injuries from a long fall.

A report on "Unang Balita" identified the tour guide as Eller Agosto, who was accompanying a foreign couple when he rolled down a rocky mountain slope moments after saving the visitors.

The report said the male tourist was about to propose marriage to his girlfriend when he lost his balance and as the couple struggled to avoid falling, Agosto caught up with them.

But after saving the tourists, Agosto fell and rolled down the rocky slope of Taraw Mountain and sustained severe injuries. The two tourists only suffered minor injuries.

Agosto's condition is being closely monitored at a hospital in Palawan.
