IRIGA CITY  - President Benigno Aquino III on Friday afternoon visited the tomb of his late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo in Naga City.

Aquino was with Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II and Jesse's widow, vice-presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

Jesse is also known to have close ties with Roxas who succeeded him as DILG chief following his death in a plane crash in August 2012.

The stop at the Eternal Gardens memorial park was made before the Roxas-Robredo tandem and the rest of the Daang Matuwid coalition made its way to Iriga City for a campaign sortie. Aquino is also expected to grace the event.

The coalition will then make its last stop in Naga City in Camarines Sur  where Jesse served as mayor in a span of almost two decades. — APG, GMA News
