Netizens ‘love’ Miriam, Duterte; ‘angry’ with Binay, Roxas; ‘neutral’ with Poe
For the first leg of the PiliPinas Debates 2016, netizens were given a chance to share how they feel towards each of the presidential aspirants through GMA News Online’s emojimeters.
While many said they “love” Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, most of those who gave their reactions on Vice President Jejomar Binay and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said they were “angry”.
Meanwhile, most of those who shared their thoughts on Senator Grace Poe clicked “neutral”.
A total of 87 unique users reacted on the presidential candidates’ performance after they said their opening statements.
Of the 50 users who reacted to Binay, 62 percent said they were “angry” while only two percent “love” him.
Santiago, on the other hand, only received two percent “angry” emojis of the 49 users. She received 47 percent “love” and 43 percent “happy” reactions.
None of the 65 users who reacted on Duterte after the opening statement clicked “sad”. But 51 percent of them said they are “happy”, while only five percent were “angry”.
There were 41 users that Poe was able to initially engage, but 63 percent of them clicked “neutral”, 17 percent said they were “happy”, and 12 percent were “angry”.
Among the candidates, Roxas received the most “angry” reactions from netizens. Of the 44 users who reacted, he received 66 percent “angry” clicks. Only two percent said they “love” him.
Round 1
After Round 1 where the candidates discussed their track record and the specific issues they are facing, there were 84 unique users who reacted using the emojimeter.

Round 3
From 700 users in Round 2, 1,265 users used the emojimeter after Round 3 to share their thoughts on the candidates. For this round, the candidates were asked to answer Mindanao concerns.

Closing statements
After they have said their final words for the first PiliPinas Debates 2016, the most picked emoji for each candidate remained the same.
Binay received 63 percent “angry” clicks out of the 332 total reactions he received.
Most of Santiago’s 345 reactions were either “love” with 46 percent or “happy” with 43 percent.
Duterte, meanwhile, received the most reactions after the debate with 439 users, 74 percent of them “love” him.
Poe, on the other hand, received the least votes with 326 reactions, 40 percent of them said they are neither happy nor sad, just “neutral”.
Roxas earned 332 reactions after the debate but 70 percent of them clicked “angry” emoticon.
The emojimeter had 2,652 unique participants:
