Leni Robredo says Bongbong Marcos’ comic book rewrites Martial Law history

Administration vice-presidential candidate Leni Robredo on Friday slammed Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.’s supposed attempt to revise history through a comic book released for his campaign.

In a statement, Robredo said the 20-page comic book was inaccurate as to what happened during the Martial Law years.

Robredo, a lawyer, had earlier warned against efforts in social media to paint a pretty picture of the Martial Law years. She said it was during this era when her “political awakening” started.

A comic book on the life of Marcos released October last year supposedly depicts the abuses of American soldiers against their family during their exile in Hawaii.

The Marcos family flew to Hawaii after being ousted by the 1986 EDSA Revolution. The late strongman Ferdinand Marcos died there three years late. —NB, GMA News
