Man selling Manila mayor’s calling card hunted

Manila Mayor Alfredo S. Lim on Wednesday warned the public, especially drivers of public utility vehicles, against falling prey to people selling his supposed calling cards. Lim said he has ordered Manila Police District (MPD) Director Senior Supt. Danilo Abarzosa to hunt down a man who has been reportedly peddling the said calling cards for P200 each. The mayor said he gave the directive upon receiving complaints from several jeepney and taxi drivers that a man has been going around making money out of his supposed calling card. Lim said the suspect, described as an old man, tall and skinny would reportedly ride a public utility vehicle and refuse to pay his fare. He would then demand P20 from the driver and then tell him to prepare P200 if he wants to have Lim’s calling card. Most of the victims, Lim said, are jeepney drivers plying the MCU-Monumento route from Pablo Ocampo Street. In connection with this, Lim appealed to the public to immediately report to his office any such activities, saying he will not tolerate anyone who will use his name for monetary gains. - GMANews.TV
