Binay hints at Roxas’ ties to Napoles; admin dares VP to answer graft raps

Vice President Jejomar Binay on Wednesday insinuated the existence of ties between administration standard bearer Mar Roxas and alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.

Binay made the remarks when he was asked for his reaction to Napoles being granted bail by two divisions of the Sandiganbayan on Wednesday.

“What I know is, si Napoles e ang tawag sa kanya ni Mr. Roxas e Ma'am Janet.... Ma'am Jenny ba o Ma’am Janet?" Binay said.

“Sabi ko nga ayoko nag-i-speculate. Tingnan na lang natin. Ang malungkot nga lamang talagang hanggang sa huli ipinakikita ng administrasyon kung ano ang hustisya sa kanila," he added.

Sought for comment, administration coalition spokesman Barry Gutierrez said Binay is the last person who should accuse others of corruption.

"VP Binay is the last person we should believe when he accuses others of corruption," Gutierrez said.

"He has consistently run from all the corruption charges and refused to answer any of the clear evidence against him brought by the Senate, COA, Ombudsman, and AMLC," he added.

"Siguro harapin niya muna sarili nyang kaso bago siya magsimula sa pagiintriga," Gutierrez said.

Binay has repeatedly denied allegations of graft against him. He dismissed them as part of a vilification against him. —NB, GMA News
