Undecided voters remain so after last leg of Pilipinas Debates 2016 —analyst
All presidential candidates played safe when they discussed the issues presented in the final leg of the PiliPinas Debates 2016 on Sunday, a political analyst has said.
According to Mon Casiple of the Institute for Political and Electoral Reform, the undecided voters who watched the debate are likely to remain undecided.
“Kasi lahat sila halata mo nagbabantayan, very careful sa mga salita. May mga issues siyempre, pero yung handling ng issue parang naniniyak ka na walang balik at buwelta sa'yo. Walang balik,” Casiple said on Unang Balita Monday.
“Iyong mga undecided malamang undecided pa rin, Iyong mga may decision na malamang ganoon pa rin o may kaunting pagbabago depende sa tingin nila,” he added.
"Sa actual debate naging safe bigla. Natuto sa first and second debate. They took the conservative route," Casiple said.
Casiple said the presidential aspirants will now have to sway voters to their side during the remainder of the campaign.
"Remember the media is always there. It's the forum for debate. meaning hindi necessarily yung ganung formal debate," Casiple said.
Casiple, meanwhile, said administration bet Mar Roxas and Sen. Grace Poe stood out based on their debate performance for looking presidential and having a good grasp of the issues.
“If there were (candidates who gained from the debate), I think it would be Mar Roxas and Grace Poe kasi sila iyong nagmukhang presidential at iyong grasp nila sa topic mukang matibay,” Casiple said. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/NB, GMA News
