Duterte endorses Manny Pacquiao during final campaign push
Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao may not be officially on his senatorial lineup, but presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday asked the 300,000 supporters at the Luneta in Manila to vote for the boxing champ.
"Kahit hindi siya sa akin, suportahan ninyo si Pacman," he said after endorsing senatorial and partylist candidates, including One Patriotic Coalition of Marginalized Nationals (1-Pacman), which led to his Pacquiao endorsement.
Pointing out they were both from Mindanao, Duterte added that they had also been friends for some time. "Magkasama kami sa sakripisyo at kaligayahan," he said.
"Even if he is with VP Binay, I'd still like to pitch for him. Huwag ninyo siyang kalimutan," Duterte added.
Pacquiao was supposed to run under the Duterte ticket, but he decided to run under Vice President Jejomar Binay's United Nationalist Alliance since the Davao City Mayor only formally joined the presidential race a month after the filing of certificates of candidacy in October 2015. — DVM, GMA News
