This election tested people's patience and inspired many essays on social media. For the candidates, all the fanfare ended on Saturday (May 7), showered in confetti—in their campaign colors, of course.

A sea of red flooded the Quirino Grandstand for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, countered by a dance party of people in similar garb at West Triangle for Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.

Celebrities shone bright at Plaza Miranda for Senator Grace Poe, while Liberal Party bet Mar Roxas' supporters turned the Quezon Memorial Circle glow a bright yellow. In his stronghold of Makati, Vice President Jejomar Binay's fans didn't let him be blue all by himself.
