Cebu choir to represent PHL in ASEAN festival

The Mandaue Children and Youth Chorus has been invited to represent the country in the ASEAN Children's Festival in Vietnam this week.
“The Mandaue Children's Choir is representing the Philippines! Though it is not a competition, but the 9 members of the choir will perform for a televised program and for the President of Vietnam,” Dennis Sugarol, choir director, told GMA News Online.
The choir, composed of 37 boys and girls, has received several international awards including the top prize at the 36th Internationales Kinderchorfestival “Georg Friedrich Handel” at Halle, Germany last May 2015 and Ani ng Dangal Awards in May 2009, February 2010 and February 2012.
It can be recalled that the Cebu-based group was also invited to the canonization mass for the second Filipino Saint Pedro Calungsod that was presided by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI on October 12, 2012. — BAP, GMA News
