HUNT ON FOR CHEAPER SPACE

Leni Robredo finds Coconut Palace too expensive for OVP

Incoming vice president Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo has no plans of holding office at the Coconut Palace because she found it too expensive.

In an interview with GMA News ahead of her proclamation, Robredo said she had started scouting for cheaper office space.

The P500,000 rent for the Coconut Palace is apparently too steep for Robredo.

“Actively maghahanap [ako] ng ibang options dahil nakita ko masyadong mataas ang arkila. Almost half a million ang arkila sa Coconut Palace," Robredo said.

"Naisip ko, bakit gagastos ng ganoon? Kung ganoon kalaki ang gastos, igagastos ko nalang iyon sa satellite offices, sa mga probinsya,” she added.

Robredo said she had yet to enter into any negotiation for a venue for the Office of the Vice President under her term.

“Siguro mag-rerequest rin kami sa isang transition team ng office of the vice president para i-lead din kami kung ano ang dapat,” the lawmaker said.

Robredo said she wanted to save money whenever possible.

“Titingnan kung ano ang mga areas na puwedeng makatipid, para mailipat ang gastos sa mas makabuluhang bagay,” she said. —NB, GMA News
