PNoy, Duterte meeting set on Inauguration Day

Keeping with tradition, outgoing President Benigno Aquino III and his successor, President-elect Rodrigo Duterte will have a meeting before the official transfer of power on Thursday.

The one-on-one meeting will take place in Malacañang, according to Communications Secretary Herminio "Sonny" Coloma Jr. in a report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday.

The report said that after the brief meeting, Aquino will be given final departure honors as commander-in-chief by the Armed Forces of the Philippines at the Palace grounds.

Aquino will then board a car that will take him to his home in Times Street, Quezon City, which would mark his return to private life after six years in power. — Virgil Lopez/RSJ, GMA News
