Classes in all levels suspended in Taguig on July 9, 2016

Classes in all levels in Taguig City in both public and private schools are suspended on July 9, Saturday, due to the expected heavy rains brought about by Typhoon Butchoy, which has since left the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Other cities and municipalities have yet to announce class suspensions as of early Friday evening.

Having left the PAR, Butchoy has reverted to its international name, Nepartak.

Nepartak's secondary effects will still be felt across western Luzon and Visayas through the weekend.

As of 3 p.m. on Friday, PAGASA posited Nepartak some 365 km norhtwest of Itbayat, Batanes—just off the western coast of Taiwan—on its way to China.

It weakened significantly as it crossed Taiwan, and is currently carrying maximum sustained winds of 150 kph and gusts of up to 185 kph. —KBK, GMA News
