316 drug suspects killed nationwide as of July 27 – PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) killed more than 300 suspects in its anti-illegal drug operations for the month of July, based on the latest count of the PNP's National Operations Center (NOC) released on Thursday.

Data gathered by the NOC showed 316 drug suspects were killed from July 1 to 27 under the PNP's intensified campaign against drugs.

The current number is 23 more than the tally of 293 for the period from July 1 to 24, according to data released by NOC last Tuesday.

A total of 4,386 drug suspects were arrested in the given time frame, while 141,659 suspects voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.

Police officers visited almost 74,000 houses as part of Oplan Tokhang, which involves their going to the homes of drug suspects.

The PNP also implemented 323 search warrants behind PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa's Oplan Double Barrel campaign.

Dela Rosa said they will continue clearing the streets and communities, even their own ranks, of illegal drugs.

“Sisiguruhin kong susuyurin natin ang mga lansangan at komunidad pati ang hanay ng kapulisan upang matukoy ang mga iligal na droga at puksain ito,” Dela Rosa said.
