Report: Pasay resident slain, GF stabbed by ‘Friendster’ pal

Because of a “Friendster" social networking account, a Pasay City resident was found – then brutally killed - while his girlfriend was seriously injured by his long-lost “distant relative" Tuesday. Radio dzBB reported Tuesday night that the incident occurred at the Park Avenue Mansion in Pasay City, at the unit of victim Joseph Cruz. Cruz sustained several stab wounds in different parts of the body. His throat was slit when police found him inside his condominium unit. His girlfriend Anna Marie Aguirre was also stabbed in different parts of the body and was rushed to the San Juan de Dios Medical Center. However, the killers were caught shortly after the crime, when a passing police patrol team accosted them for driving erratically. Pasay police chief Sr. Supt. Marietto Valerio identified the suspects as Rudy Navarro, 26, who slit Cruz’s throat; and Alpine Saguil, who admitted being a distant relative of Cruz. Saguil said he “found" his relative through his “Friendster" account and learned his address from there. Initial investigation showed the two suspects managed to enter Cruz’s condominium unit and started to ransack the unit. When Cruz saw the two robbing him, he tried to fight back but the suspects repeatedly stabbed him and Aguirre, then tried to escape in Cruz’s black Mitsubishi Galant (TNC-915). However, their erratic driving attracted the attention of a passing patrol car, and the patrol unit flagged them down. - GMANews.TV
