Friends, supporters leave #ThankYouMiriam notes in last day of Miriam’s wake
A long line has formed outside the Immaculate Conception Cathedral as friends and supporters of former Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago visited her wake for the last time.

The visitors have offered short messages and tributes to Santiago, the Iron Lady of Asia, as they paid their last respects on Saturday.
According to a tweet by DZBB's Sam Nielsen, there were an overflowing amount of messages, which centered around the hashtag #ThankYouMiriam.

Among the big personalities who visited the late senator's wake were former Presidents Benigno Aquino IIi and former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.
Sen. Leila de Lima arrived before 7 p.m. Saturday.
De Lima offered her condolences to the loved ones left behind by Santiago.

The other personalities include former senator Loi Estrada, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, former University of the East Law Dean Amado Valdez, former congressman Mike Defensor, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre, Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag, Sen. Gregorio Honasan, and Heart Evangelist with her husband, Sen. Francis Escudero.
The wake, which was opened for public viewing, will be closed from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday.
Santiago will be buried on Sunday afternoon.
The remains of the former senator, meanwhile, were transferred near the altar as a Mass was conducted in the cathedral. —Jessica Bartolome/ALG, GMA News
