Krista Miller’s camp insists actress not drug pusher
The camp of actress Krista Miller on Tuesday insisted that she is not a drug pusher, but the Quezon City police said that the evidence against her is strong.
In an exclusive report on Unang Balita on Wednesday, GMA News' reporter Marisol Abdurahman quoted the actress as saying that she would not grant any interview with media this time.
At the Quezon City Police District Office where Krista is being held, her father appealed to the public not to judge his daughter, insisting that she is not a drug pusher, report said.
Krista's lawyer Atty. Ramon Vargas told GMA News that she is innocent. "Based on my interview with her, she was not after selling drugs."
On the hand, the police insisted they have strong evidence against Krista.
Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said, "Nasa list natin siya, may information tayo sa kanyang activities."
Four celebrities have already been arrested in the intensified drive against illegal drugs under the Rodrigo Duterte administration. These include:
- DJ Karen Bordador,
- Sabrina M,
- Krista Miller, and
- Mark Anthony Fernandez
Kapisanan ng mga Artista sa Pelikulang Pilipino at Telebisyon president Rez Cortez appealed to celebrities into illegal drugs: “Bago umabot doon sa point na aarestuhin kayo, idedemanda at baka humantong sa pagkamatay or pagkasugat ng isang artista, tigilan na natin.”
Also, Cortez said the organization is trying to police its own ranks, but he appealed to authorities, if possible, not make public the names of celebrities arrested in anti-illegal drugs operations. — LBG, GMA News
