NAPC chair issues apology to VP Robredo, Isidro for 'distasteful' social media comments

National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) head Liza Maza has apologized for what she called distasteful social media post by the agency against Vice President Leni Robredo and actress Agot Isidro.

"Certain distasteful statements have been posted in our Facebook page that in no way reflect NAPC's views or values. We sincerely apologize to Vice President Robredo, Ms. Isidro, and to the public in general," said Maza.

"We are now investigating this matter internally," she added.

Maza was referring to the post on the official NAPC Facebook and Twitter account, "Ang pagkakapareho ni Agot Isidro at VP Leni Robredo -- takot silang magutom."

Isidro earlier posted on her Facebook account allegedly calling President Rodrigo Duterte a "psychopath."

Robredo, on the other hand, earlier issued a statement suggesting that Duterte be more careful in issuing statements after the latter told US President Barack Obama to "go to hell" and the European Union to "choose purgatory" after receiving criticisms on his anti-illegal drugs war. — Bernadette A.
