Labor dept. sets 23 job fairs in November
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Thursday said more employment opportunities await jobseekers with 23 job fairs scheduled in November.
In a statement, Bureau of Local Employment Director Dominique Rubia-Tutay said the job fairs will be avaible in Regions 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, the Cordillera Administrative Region and Caraga Region.
“We expect the number of job fairs for November to increase as soon as other DOLE regional offices have finalized their own schedules,” Tutay said.
Tutay bared the locations of the following job fairs were based on updates posted in PhilJobnet, the government’s job search and skills matching portal:
- November 4: Provincial Auditorium, Old Capitol Compound, Cabanatuan City;
- November 5: San Jose Del Monte National Trade School, Brgy. Fatima V, Sapang Palay, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan;
- November 7: Covered Court, Municipal Compound, Poblacion, Hagonoy Bulacan;
- November 8: Municipal Hall, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay; Tagum New City Atrium, Brgy. Apokon, Tagum City; Talavera Gymnasium in front of Municipality of Talavera;
- November 10: St. Martha Homes Covered Court, Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan;
- November 11: LGU President Quirino Municipal Hall Compound; Jose Songco Gymnasium, Cangatba, Porac, Pampanga; City Gymnasium, Valencia City, Bukidnon;
- November 12: Waltermart Pampanga;
- November 14: Don Ruben Gymnasium; Gov. Ben Palispis Hall, Capitol, La Trinidad, Benguet;
- November 15: Ateneo de Zamboanga University; Brgy. Dapdap Multipurpose Bldg. Madapdap Resettlement, Dapdap, Mabalacat City, Pampanga;
- November 18: Capitol Lobby, Isulan, Soccsksargen; 3rd Floor Mess Hall, Iloilo City Hall, Iloilo City; 5th Floor Abanao Square, Baguio City;
- November 19: Covered Court, Pandi Residence I, Brgy Mapulang Lupa, Pandi, Bulacan;
- November 23: Esperanza Gymnasium, Sultan Kudarat;
- November 26: Bohol Cultural Center, CPG. Avenue, Tagbilaran City; Alturas Mall, Bohol;
- November 28: SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, J.P. Laurel Ave., Davao City
Tutay urged jobseekers to take advantage of the schedule, saying the job fair is an effective means to bring employers and applicants together.
“We encourage our jobseekers to join and participate in these job fairs for it speeds up the meeting of companies looking for potential employees and jobseekers seeking for employment,” she said.
She reminded jobseekers to bring the following documents when they proceed to the job fair: resumé or curriculum vitaé; 2x2 ID pictures (have multiple copies for multiple applications); certificate of employment (for those who were formerly employed); diploma; transcript of records; and authenticated birth certificate.
Tutay said the job fairs are in coordination with various employers, local government units through their respective Public Employment Service Offices, academic institutions, and DOLE regional offices. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/KBK, GMA News
