Verdict on Erap plunder case out Sept. 12
(Updated 12:10 p.m.) The Sandiganbayan on Friday announced that the promulgation of the verdict on former President Joseph Estrada's P4.1-billion plunder case has been set for Wednesday, September 12 at 9 a.m. Renato Bocar, Sandiganbayan spokesman, relayed the information over dzBB radio. "(Ang promulgation po ay) sa Miyerkules, September 12, 2007 at 9 a.m. Pinadalhan na po ang PNP (Philippine National Police) ng produce order na dalhin ang (dating) pangulo sa nasabing petsa, at ang mga abugado ay pinadalhan na rin ng mga notices, pati si (Sen. Jose) "Jinggoy" Estrada at si Edward Serapio," Bocar said. He added that Estrada and Serapio were sent notices because they were under the jurisdiction of the Sandiganbayan Special Division, while the other accused in the plunder case were "still at large." He said the media will be barred from airing the proceedings live. An extension speaker at the Sandiganbayan's media room will be made available "for reporters and spectators," but recording the sound will not be allowed. Cellphones, other communication devices and recording equipment are also not allowed inside the Special Division's sala. - GMANews.TV
