Fire guts house in Sampaloc, Manila

Fire of still undetermined origin razed a two-story house in Manila’s Sampaloc district Saturday morning, but no one was reported injured. QTV-11 reported that the fire started at a two-story house along Josefina Street, Sampaloc at 9:41 a.m., and reached the fifth alarm before it was placed under control 10 a.m. Residents said they saw a spark near the roof of the house before flames started to shoot out. The house was located a few meters from the United Doctors Medical Center. While firefighters managed to place the fire under control in less than an hour, traffic was snarled in Quezon and España avenues due to fire trucks occupying the narrow streets. - GMANews.TV
