PNP chief Bato rallies newly-commissioned officers to have gung-ho attitude

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa rallied Thursday the 98 members of PNP Academy 2017 class to have a gung-ho attitude.

"Sumabak kayo nang sumabak kung saan ang gulo. Huwag kayong umatras. Dapat ang attitude n'yo gung-ho ... gung-ho attitude to contribute to the attainment of the ambition ng ating PNP," Dela Rosa said in his speech during the badge of honor ceremony for the newly commissioned police officials.

He said they should not be afraid to die.

"Kahit natutulog ka kung oras mo na mamamatay ka. Pero kahit humarap ka sa batalyong kalaban kung hindi mo pa oras, hindi ka pa mamamatay," he said.

However, he said that they should stay alive and be proficient in handling their firearms.

In response, Class 2017 Valedictorian Insp. Macdum Enca said they are ready to risk their lives everyday but they do not intend to die.

"We do not intend to die, the criminals will die because we intend to be the living heroes of our country," he said.

Dela Rosa also reminded the new police officials to wear their badges with pride and honor.

Aside from the badge, the newly-commissioned officers also received their service firearm, ATM card containing their salary and allowances, clothing allowance, uniforms, and portfolio kit. — RSJ, GMA News
