Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos on Monday said her mother, former First Lady and incumbent Rep. Imelda Romualdez Marcos, is still alive.
The younger Marcos made the clarification following a post on Twitter by actress and Bacoor, Cavite Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla expressing condolences at the supposed death of the former First Lady.
"Our condolences to the Marcos Family. It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with Cong. Imelda Romualdez Marcos," Mercado-Revilla wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted.
Mercado-Revilla then posted an apology on Twitter to say the information she received was not true.
"I would like to apologize for my tweet which I have erased.I received a news break message informing the public about Mrs.Marcos," she wrote.
