Authorities monitor lahar flow in Mt. Pinatubo
Authorities are monitoring lahar flow on the slopes of Mt. Pinatabo in the wake of tropical storm Caloy's heavy rains and strong winds in the province of Zambales. GMA 7's Flash Report said the Provincial Coordinating Council is preparing to evacuate residents along the banks of the Bocaue River in Botolan in case it overflows. Report said that overflowing floodwaters from the Bocaue River could damage the dike that protects the residents living near the river. However, the provincial coordinating council said that the situation in Zambales remains normal as there are no reports of damage as of Sunday evening caused by the storm, which is expected to be out of the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday. ââ¬â GMANews.TV
