CA OKs promotion of Wesmincom chief, PSG head, 27 others

The Commission on Appointments (CA) has approved the promotion of Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) chief Carlito Galvez, Jr. to the rank of Lieutenant General Wednesday.

Galvez skipped his confirmation hearing and instead sent communication that he will be in Marawi City following the attacks of Maute Group there that prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to put the entire Mindanao under martial law.

The CA also approved the promotion of Presidential Security Group (PSG) commander Brigadier General Lope Dagoy.

Dagoy was unable to attend his confirmation hearing as he was out on official mission for Duterte’s official visit to Russia. The trip, however, had been cut short after the President’s declaration of martial law in Mindanao.
