Iloilo grad tops Nursing Licensure Exam passers

Graduates from the provinces dominated the Top 10 passers in the Nursing Licensure Exam given earlier this month, with a graduate from the Visayas earning the top spot.

Marie Angelie Cardente Cabañez of West Visayas State University in La Paz, Iloilo City, topped the list of 3,882 passers with a score of 86.20, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Friday.

Cabañez was followed by Nona Casey Dela Serna Baring of Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) and Piny Elleine Soriano Cesar of Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao, who both scored 85.20.

At the third spot was Cleo Abellana Gomez of Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) who scored 85.00, followed by Shannon Estrada Boyle of Ateneo de Zamboanga, Nechelyn Pepito Consular of West Visayas State University-La Paz, and Kathryn Marie Languido So of Cebu Doctors' University who are tied at fourth place with an 84.80 score.

Completing the Top 10 are:

5. Eaunice Fajardo Contado of Cebu Doctors' University, Alyssa Jude Mediodia Montalban of West Visayas State University-La Paz and Karla Ida Langcay Pamittan of Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao, who all scored 84.60

6. Maria Queenie Espiritu Laxamana of Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela City and Joane Christine Pedrola of West Visayas State University-Lapaz, who both scored 84.40

Jeremiah dela Cruz Bagaoisan of De La Salle University-Health Sciences Institute, Christa Lou Conejos Derasin of Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College, Lourence Anna Cabillo Garrido of West Visayas State University-La Paz, Beverly Ann Amistoso Guerrero of Bicol University-Legazpi, Julie May Lauron Suganob of West Visayas State University-La Paz, and Elyza Kimberly Yap Villarante of Velez College, who all scored 84.20.

8. Clare Dominique Batugal Baui of Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao, Darlyne Palmes Esposo of West Visayas State University-La Paz and Philip Ooi Simon of Cebu Doctors' University, who all scored 84.00.

9. Jaspere Nicole Sanchez Aldea of Ateneo de Naga University, Andrea Antazo Beratio of Chinese General Hospital Colleges, Christel Margaret Puray Facundo of Centro Escolar University-Manila, Ronel Glen Schuck Garcia of Ateneo de Zamboanga, Adrian Paul Palang Marundan of Cebu State University (Cebu State College), and Princess Nillasca Meliton of West Visayas State University-La Paz, who all scored 83.80.

10. Luke Aaron Telewik Repoponio of Cebu State University (Cebu State College) with 83.60

A total of 11,176 nursing graduates took the exam given on June 4 and 5 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga, the PRC said. —KBK, GMA News
